Our Story

tableX is a 7 course dining experience designed by Chef Alex around the seasons and rhythms of Maine. Each course is selectively crafted, locally sourced and paired with complementary wines to enhance the pallet and flavors of each dish. Set in a modern pub-style atmosphere, guests can expect to learn about the careful selection of each dish from the chef himself and partake in a true edible journey.

About Chef Alex White

For Chef Alex, food and love coincided in early childhood - beginning with his adoption from an Italian mother always eager to force "love" into his ever willing stomach.

Upon graduation, Alex followed his passion for cultivating craft food to Miami, Florida where he gained the opportunity to apprentice with award winning Chef Andrew Carmellini. Once moving up in rank, Chef Alex transferred his culinary training to Boston where he became a sous chef under renowned Boston restaurateur and Chef, Barbra Lynch. Under her leadership, Alex saw the talent, skill and creativity required to create meaningful cuisine that was not only delectable in taste, but artful in design.

By age 23, Chef Alex's aptitude had earned him a position at the James Beard House in New York City, working at the restaurant, Menton. Armed with experience and an outstanding reputation within the Boston and New York culinary scenes, Alex began facilitating private dinners for celebrities, catering events and more. One highlight of chef Alex’s career was his cuisine being featured at the Art Basel art gallery in Miami Beach.

As with many endeavors in life, Alex found himself being drawn back home to his New England roots. Now, Chef Alex has crafted a dining experience in Maine that continues to change the way people experience "dining out". With tableX, Chef Alex is happier than ever to have the privilege of providing his guests with a memorable and heartfelt dining experience.
